ELECTION DAY
4. November 2008
kris
At the end of this election day, God will still be God, Jesus will still be returning, Saved people will still go to heaven, America will still be a great nation, and the Church will still have a mission to be a light house to the world. Whether we are in prosperous times or perilous times, God is still faithful to us and we are to be faithful to him.

Louisiana first to allow teachers to question evolution’s claims
July 24, 2008
BATON ROUGE (BP) – In a first for any state, Louisiana has adopted an academic freedom law giving teachers greater protection and freedom in teaching the strengths and weaknesses of Darwinian evolution, something supporters of academic freedom in science call a significant step forward.
Gov. Bobby Jindal, a Republican, signed the Louisiana Science Education Act after it unanimously passed the state Senate 36-0 and was approved by the House by a vote of 94-3. The law allows “open and objective discussion of scientific theories being studied, including but not limited to, evolution, the origins of life, global warming and human cloning.” A statement on Jindal’s website June 26 said he had signed it along with dozens of other bills.
Trinity Heights Family finds another way to connect with one another.
Supper club is big hit! Baptist love to eat and fellowship and supper club combines both as well as it allows God to pick who eats with whom. Names are drawn out of a hat and eating groups are formed and the person who has the nearest birthday will get to decide where we eat. It is as simple as that. It helps us to get to know one another better and it gives God the opportunity work in us and through us. Join us next time for “Supper Club.” COMING Thursday August 28 @ 6 PM.
Our Children and Youth begin new era @ THBC.
Bro Dan and a host of great workers and Children as well as Bro Lance and another great host of youth worker and youth are anticipating a great year in the Lord. Let’s continue to support them in our prayers, encouragement, availability and by inviting Children and Youth to our services.

From your pastor’s heart
18. May 2008
kris
Our tiny rent house could not have withstood a Trinity Heights canned goods pounding. Thanks for varying from the norm and blessing us Cheniers with a Love Offering. Your generosity has deeply blessed us and your love and heart felt compassion for us has blessed us even more. Your love for God is evident in your living and in your giving. After being in an area severely damaged by Katrina and being surrounded by destroyed homes, destroyed lives, depression and despair, your embrace has been deeply felt and appreciated. My family and I love you and are so thankful that God has put us all together
We celebrated Chip Johnson’s Deacon Ordination and welcome him as our newest Deacon. He, Pam, Laramie and Colton have been a blessing to our church family for many years. We also celebrate your giving to our “New Organ Fund.” Our old organ has issues and is beyond repair. Your generous gifts have enabled us to purchase a new one. The new organ will give us many new sounds and will take several months to be built. We will schedule it to be delivered after Phase III is completed. There again, thanks for your generous giving to make this possible.
Phase III renovations involve lighting, pews, carpet, etc. in our Sanctuary and Foyer. We all have our favorite colors and themes. These days, I am very partial to Purple, Gold and Tigers, but I am praying for our committee to make the best recommendation. I will keep you informed when it is time to vote.
The Amazing Grace series continues, so join us for a life touching, life changing, teaching of Romans, Sunday mornings and nights at Trinity Heights. To you, our newest members, we welcome you to Trinity Heights and look forward to all God has in store.
